Regarding the Grill: While we often have a grill available for guest use, we cannot guarantee its availability or condition for every stay. If it is on-site, please note that propane/charcoal is the guest's responsibility. There may be some left over from previous guests, or you can pick some up at a local shop.

"The ancient bears den was absolutely perfect!! Our family (2 adults , 3 teens) had the best time. The decor was absolutely stunning. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to cook. We enjoyed all of the attention to details and had a Hobbit marathon. We the property has some beautiful public spaces but there is some construction going on . The construction didn’t bother us at all. We were in town for the Smoky mountains. The Smokies are about an hour away but it’s an easy drive. There are plenty of shops in the area for anything you might need. The cabin was better than we expected and really made our trip magical. We will absolutely be returning."

"We absolutely loved staying at the Bear’s Den! It was adorable with lots of thoughtful details. We loved the private back patio and hot tub. It was the perfect home base for all of the activities we had planned in the area, and felt secluded and outside of the hustle and bustle. The hosts were very responsive and helpful. "This was our first road trip with kids (4.5, 2.5, and 5m) so we were really worried about how any home would work for us. This place is absolutely amazing! The neighborhood is under construction as they’re building more themed homes, but we absolutely love ours and the construction wasn’t an issue. We had 3 families staying at different homes all with small kids. We definitely picked the winner, no stairs!! It was perfect for our small kids. The decor was also great - I don’t feel like our kids were going to break a ton of stuff because the decor was light and blended so well with the home they didn’t notice it (our friends had a home with a ton of decor and that was hard for them). This place was amazingly clean, the host was absolutely wonderful (they own a ton of properties from what I can see, so we’ll definitely go back to them again in the future). The location is great - far away from touristy busyness but close enough to drive to all the fun. Not one complaint."

"While the neighborhood is still under construction, the place is very easy to find and the other themed bnbs are so cute! Makes you want to plan another trip 🙂 The house is picture perfect, charming, cozy, and has everything you'll need inside for a great little getaway with your group. I was pleasantly surprised there was enough dishes for everyone, there are additional appliances in the cabinets, and even foil & skewers! My only tips: Bring a sleep mask if light wakes you up as the curtains are sheer and the sun will wake you up. If your group is traveling from different places with many cars - be warned the driveway is small. Buy some popcorn because they have all The Hobbit & Lord of the Rings movies for you to marathon watch!"

"The place and area was amazingly decorated and themed. My daughter had never scene Lord of the Rings and after seeing her room with the ring of power, music box, etc. she wanted to watch it...which we did because of course they have all three on blue ray ready for you. The neighborhood is also incredibly themed and I highly recommend walking around and checking it out. Highly recommend."
