The Cabin: Cozy Bear Lodge is a deeply secluded one-bedroom cabin tucked into the woods between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, sized like a much bigger property at nearly 1,400 square feet. The upstairs open living area soars with vaulted ceilings and big windows, anchored by a gas fireplace and a sleeper sofa. The kitchen is fully stocked (Keurig and drip coffee, blender, crock pot, washer, and dryer) so you can settle in without a grocery run. The bedroom is the entertainment hub: a king bed with a premium mattress, a private arcade, a Jacuzzi tub, and a second sleeper sofa for extra guests. Two flat-screens with Netflix, Disney+, and YouTube TV pre-loaded. Don't be surprised if Dolly, the resident black bear, and her cubs wander past; guests spot them every couple of weeks.

"Took a family trip- 2 adults 2 kids and a dog- and had the best time at this cabin. Location was secluded with a steep road to the cabin. One minor issue with the internet but reply was quick and easily resolved, this is to highlight more for the quick response and quick fix rather than the issue. Check in and out was a breeze. House with stocked with the basics for cooking and cleaning up. Just bring plenty of food and the cabin has the rest for an easy trip. Hot tub was great after some long hikes. No bears but we did see a family or two of wild turkeys. We enjoyed this cabin from the minute we got there until we left."

Weird sign on a taxidermied bear though that read “cozy bear camera”. Since it’s dog-friendly, there’s a little normal wear on the floors and couches, but everything is still very clean, comfortable, and well cared for. The host, Justin, was extremely responsive and helpful with the few minor issues we had. The area is peaceful and great for relaxing, and the cabin feels very private. Be prepared for the driveway—if you’re not used to mountain driving, the last stretch can feel intimidating, and you’ll definitely need 4x4 in snow or ice. The easiest way for us was to drive past the cabin, loop around, then come back and back into the driveway so you can pull straight out when leaving. Overall, a wonderful, cozy, dog-friendly stay that we highly recommend."

He was super responsive and was able to accommodate us with little notice and was a great communicator throughout the process. We visited in late July/early Aug and it was hot outside but the cabin stayed nice and cool inside. "Justin’s cabin was perfect for our small family. We enjoyed the pool table, hot tub, and drinking coffee in the mornings on the large porches. The cabin is just minutes away from the national park and Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge. Justin was a great host and did everything to ensure we had a pleasant stay! Our only minor complaint was that we were surprised at how steep the road to the cabin was, but we still made it up just fine. We would definitely come back and highly recommend this cabin!"

"I loved staying at this cabin! It feels very isolated so it’s a great place to get out and relax. We didn’t really want to interact with people and nobody bothered us, it was perfect. Cabin is close to everything, had hot tub and jacuzzi to relax, I liked the layout. This place is pet friendly which is rare in the area and essential to our family. "Comfortable cabin in the hills. Streets were tricky to navigate and the final climb was a bit intimidating. But the cabin was clean, well equipped, and the are was very quiet and tranquil (despite my bear encounter). Justin is a first rate host. "We really enjoyed our stay even though we had some rainy days it was enjoyable just staying at the cabin cooking out and enjoying the hot tub and the woody environment. Setting on the porch in the mornings with your cup of coffee and listening to the birds, singing and the geese flying was so relaxing. "In all honesty, this was not only our first experience at the Smoky Mountains, but also going through Air BnB and it was all around amazing! Justin was very responsive, had an amazing guidebook and made sure to answer any questions we may have had! The cabin was clean and the towels were even folded all cute just like the pictures! The Smoky Mountains are breathtaking and the people were so kind and fun too! We are definitely coming back (already trying to plan a trip with our closest friends) and will definitely be going through Justin again for a stay! "Great cabin in the mountains. A lot bigger than we thought, great for 2 people and a dog. Being pet friendly made our whole trip so much more convenient! A lot to do in the area, only 15 minutes to downtown gatlinburg, but you could easily stay in this cozy cabin most of the day. Make sure you have a vehicle ( and tires) that can make it up the steep mountain road! Definitely would stay again and highly recommend!!"

"Everything was wonderful! We had a bit of bad weather with icy roads that made the last curve up to the cabin a bit difficult to navigate without preparations. After check-in, we think an ice fairy left a container of "ice melt" on the porch. The cabin was great! I was very impressed with the appearance of the place. This is a pet friendly cabin and detail to cleanliness was not overlooked. We brought our pup and it was nice to see incorporated welcoming touches for her as well. Justin answered every message in just seconds with willingness to help with any concern. We were very pleased with our stay and hope to return again soon!"

"The Cozy Bear Cabin was the perfect getaway for my family. Its location enabled us to do a variety of activities in Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and the Smokies. The place was clean and had all the essentials for our stay, so all we had to do was grocery shop. We loved the 2 decks on the back of the house for grilling and relaxing later in the day. We also found the area surrounding nice for walking since we brought our dog. It was very private and so peaceful - just what we were looking for!"

"We loved staying here.. wanted to stay longer. The communication with the office people could have been better bc we were at the wrong house for 45 min as they tried to help us in and didn't realize until we thought we would walk around the area and realized we were at the wrong spot. Other than that, we absolutely loved our stay and loved the lay out of the place. Was a great get away for our family of 4 as we had sleepover and could bathe while we relaxed in bed!!! "Amazing cabin - We had an amazing time for our first trip to the area. Loved how secluded and quiet it was. Cabin was big and very clean. Loved being able to bring our dogs too. Loved having the grill. Taught my 6yr old son how to play pool and loved the hot tub. We even got a visit from the local black bear and got to watch it wander around. My wife loved the bird watching from multiple decks. Highly recommend this cabin and would stay here again! The owners were great and super responsive"

"We had a wonderful time staying at Justin’s place! We arrived to a very clean home, with all the kitchen amenities we needed. The kids loved the games and pool table. The hot tub was great after a long day of walking. We found linens for both pullouts ready to use. They even left some laundry detergent and dishwasher detergent for us to use during our stay. We found 2 dog bowls for use which was a great added touch. I loved that Justin doesn’t charge for dogs to stay. We brought our two sweet Frenchies with us and they had the best time staying with us. We enjoyed the basement deck, relaxing on the porch swing and the dogs were able to safely lay around with us. We saw several bears while we were there. They usually came early morning or evening, but a couple passed by one day about noon. They pass right by the front and back deck, but never stopped or seemed to mind us. Justin provided great communication the entire stay with great info about the area. Thanks for a great experience!"

"We reserved our first ever Airbnb with Justin and couldn't have been more pleased with the location and amenities. We did have a slight hiccup with the hot tub not functioning properly; however, after reaching out to Justin we were able troubleshoot the issue and it worked perfectly. Justin was very responsive if we ever needed to reach out and was always willing to assist to make sure our stay was as relaxing and as possible. A couple things to note: the road leading to the cabin is very steep and has a sharp turn which we had to use 4-wheel drive to maneuver on two of days as it had rained and was slightly slick and we saw a black bear walking down the road and through the woods each day of our stay so pay close attention when going to and from your car, walking your pets, etc. All in all it was a wonderful location, beautiful cabin and great host which we will book through again when we return to the Smokies!"

"Loved our stay! The cabin is a perfect getaway for couples. The location is quiet and private but only a short drive to Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and the park. The cabin is clean, nicely laid out, has everything you need, and is exactly what I'd expect from a cute little cabin in the mountains! We had some trouble getting the hot tub up and running the first evening, but Justin was very responsive and the issue ended up solving itself while we were out to dinner, so no complaints there. The road up to the cabin is quite steep, which is not unusual for the area, but we had no trouble navigating the roads or finding our way to the right place. I only wish we could have stayed longer since we're just in town for the weekend, but this cabin is definitely on our list when we get to come back to the area!"

"Cabin was in a very hilly location, very woodsy. My old SUV made some questionable sounds getting there, luckily we didn't encounter any head on traffic either, those roads are VERY narrow. The cabin had a little scent of dog upstairs, but not too bad for a pet friendly location honestly. Everything as described. My kid was obsessed with the arcade machine. Super close to Pigeon Forge. Very glad that the host reached out to tell me to download the maps to my phone. My t-mobile cell service was literally useless in the area, even in town, but my maps still worked thanks to his forewarning. Also take a screen shot of your door code in case you get there and have zero cell service like I did!"

"This place was incredible I mean the view, the coziness of the cabin. My favorite thing was the bench swing it’s so calming to have your morning cup of coffee and just sit outside. "Excellent vacation experience - This rental was Amazing! Secluded but yet right in the middle of Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg, very easy access to both. Cabin has all amenities you can think of and the king bed is super comfy. Best of all we got to experience this wonderful vacation with our two lil fur babies. Thank you for offering such a clean and welcoming stay and allowing pets. Will definitely stay again!"

"Great Place! - My husband and I brought our 16 year old son to the area and found this cabin to be a good fit for our stay. The cabin was great and had that comfortable rustic cabin feel at the same time. We had so much fun in the evenings after our busy day playing pool! We highly recommend. My little 4 cylinder car made it up the hill but I was hanging on! Lol"

"We had a wonderful stay at this secluded, but perfectly located cabin. I spent so much time on the porch swing surrounded by nature that I felt like I was swinging while I was not even on it! We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub, playing pool, and the arcade games we remember from childhood(I was a lot better at them back in the day). The cabin was very clean and the kitchen had everything we needed. It was very close to pigeon forge and gatlinburg but also a world away. Justin was a very good communicator and also quick to respond. We loved it and would book again! Definitely 5 Stars!"

"Everything was great! From booking to check out Justin made sure we had everything we needed and even provided a visitor guide of all the things to do. The house was extremely clean, spacious and beautiful. My husband and I and our 2 dogs had plenty of room! The bed was comfortable and we loved having 2 hot tubs. Away from the hustle of town for some peace and quiet to end your day. Easy access to both towns and a hop away from breath-taking Mountain View’s and hiking! The hot tub and pool table got plenty of use as well as the awesome tub downstairs. Everything was very clean and provided all the essentials. We loved how peaceful it was up in the mountains but drive to town is a close trek with plenty of tourist spots and beautiful scenery/hiking. You're in the smokeys so the drive up is windy and steep to the cabin, my subaru made it easy but if it's snowy/icy I could see it being difficult to get down so keep in mind for anyone not in 4wd. No complaints here, we had a blast! Definitely recommend and would love to go back!"

"A few issues but overall an amazing stay - The owner is incredibly easy to communicate with and will get things figured out for you in no time. The cabin is a perfect size for a little getaway of 2-6 people and is well priced. We had a few concerns with the cleanliness of the cabin but the owner got on them right away and even refunded part of our cost, also saying that he would figure out the cleaning situation right away, so I feel confident in saying this place is well worth the stay. The hot tub and jacuzzi are amazing and the solitary feel of this cabin is incredible!"

"It felt like a treehouse without being a treehouse. What a wonderful place to sit back and just be one with nature. We were 2 days late getting there and oh how I wish I could have those 2 days back, and that we could have stayed longer. We lived on the porch off the bedroom! I do suggest you be familiar with downshifting (even in an automatic vehicle). We drive a mid size SUV and once we turned onto King Branch Rd, 2nd and even 1st gears made it easier. "Recently stayed at the Cozy Bear Cabin with my husband and we had a great time! The cabin had everything that we needed for a great vacation and more. We especially enjoyed the arcade games, record player and large tub! The only thing that was a little different than we expected was the drive up to the driveway, it was steep and it was a little difficult to get in and out of the driveway. But! once we made it out it was easy to get to all of the places we wanted to go! I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to stay in the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area!"

"My girlfriend and I ended up booking late and we were a bit stressed on time getting packed and heading down after working all week but let me just say that as soon as we parked and got inside, we were thrilled with everything. There’s another cabin across the street behind this one but all decks face away from it so you’d only see it coming in and leaving, we felt nice and secluded but it was only a 20 minute drive into town. The TV was easy to navigate and there were a few notes left around to answer any little questions we might have. The pool table, games, and hot tub were enough to keep us busy for the whole weekend we barely went into town! We managed to cook dinner there for ourselves so it really felt like we had our own cabin in the woods until we had to pack up :(. If you’re contemplating between this stay and any others, just go ahead and reserve this one, you know you want to!"

"This place is perfect! A great place to get away with a significant other. The host is on top of everything and responds very fast and kindly to anything! I would 100% recommend the cabin was the cleanest I’ve ever seen and it’s beautiful inside and out. This is a place I will be staying again. The only thing I would recommend for someone staying here would be to bring water bottles and the mountain roads are very narrow so I wouldn’t drive a large vehicle up there haha"

"This was such a wonderful little getaway! It located in just the right spot between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, which makes everything so convenient! Grub hub knew where to find us the nights we didn’t want to eat out, and it was easy to figure out how to navigate the area after the first couple of days. We had a really great time exploring the surrounding areas and strip throughout the day, and coming back to the cabin at night felt just like coming home! "We celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary at this beautiful romantic cabin with our 3 year old daughter! Let me tell you, the house is super amazing and gorgeous. The pictures definitely don’t do justice to the place. It’s a lot more beautiful in person than what you to see in pictures. We just didn’t want to leave the cabin, it’s so cozy and so beautiful with a pool table, Muticade game machine (yes your read it right), Hot tub, Jacuzzi in the bedroom! Its like a dream cottage! Justin is really a super amazing host! He sent us a list of things we could do near and around the place. That was really thoughtful of him. "The pictures of this cabin do not do it justice! Justin and Kari have made this place as comfortable as possible, it felt just like home. They are very responsive if you have any questions, concerns or comments. We came up to the smokies to get married and spend our honeymoon, and their cabin was the perfect place to do that! The king size bed is probably the most comfortable bed we’ve ever slept in. We slept like rocks haha. "What a beautiful cabin. We really enjoyed our stay at the Cozy Bear. The drive up To the cabin was a little nerve-racking for us flatland Indiana folk. The hot tub is always a great touch when it comes to staying in the mountains, so we really enjoyed that. The bed/pillows were super comfy too, so we very much looked forward to cozying up at the end of a long day of activities. "My brand new husband and I came here as the first stop on our honeymoon. Justin was immediate in all his responses and provided literal books of information on places to go. While here, we went to Anakeesta, Cade's Cove, Clingmans Dome, Harry's Crab House and Cheddars. My absolute favorite part of this trip was hitting the Incredible Christmas Place. If you like the holidays in the slightest I recommend stopping. It is a must see spot. The house was clean and very nicely decorated. Bed was SO comfy...hot tub in great condition and waiting for us after long days of adventuring. "We loved our stay at Justin’s cabin. It was modern yet cozy, and most importantly, it was sparkling clean (just as advertised) making it the perfect getaway place during the pandemic.
Location-wise, it was perfect. The cabin was located in an area that was tranquil, serene, and beautiful. That said, we were still close enough to other cabins where it didn't feel like we were on the scene of a horror movie. It was also only a short drive away from Gatlinburg and the national park entrance.
Justin was an excellent host and super responsive to all of our questions. The amenities were great. The kitchen was fully stocked. Cabin was stocked with toilet paper, paper towels, and other miscellaneous cleaning supplies. Having a gas grill with left over propane in the tank was also very clutch. Having the pool table and the hot tub were also nice added bonuses after some long days of hiking.
Thank you Justin! We enjoyed every minute and would highly recommend the cozy bear cabin to anyone thinking about taking a trip to Gatlinburg either during or hopefully after this pandemic is over!"

It’s about a 10 minute drive from the parkway to the house and takes about 45 minutes to get to the trailhead of most smoky mountain hikes but is about as close as you can get to the park entrance (the park is just big!) so location is great. "My wife and I visited for our 10th anniversary. Environment: The cabin could best be described as cozy and cute. The cabin had a romantic feel to it which was a plus as this was an anniversary trip. We loved the decor and layout. The ambiance was amazing. We could see a few other cabins from the parking lot, but not from the windows or the three porches. Those views were all very private including the hot tub. Location: Between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, we could get to either town or in some cases both the same day, with ease. The cabin was both "in the woods" and quickly accessible to the attractions. I was impressed by how close everything felt even though we were tucked away. Amenities: There was an outdoor hot tub that was private and overlooked the woods and was very enjoyable. Also loved having an in door tub right there in the bedroom. My cell service was poor in spots (ATT) so it was nice having reliable and fast wifi. TVs were setup with Youtube, Netflix, Disney Plus, and Amazon video which we took advantage of. My wife especially enjoyed having a washer and dryer right there. There was a nice kitchen area, we didn't really use much but was very nice. Host: Justin was always prompt with his messages. He was able to get us in a few hours early for check in. He had created a nice digital guide book I reviewed before the trip as I hadn't been to Pigeon Forge in about 10 years and it was nice to get ideas. They also had a physical hard back copy of this guide in the cabin. The wifi password and TV instructions were posted and easily spotted when we entered the cabin as well as house rules. I never messaged him with any concerns, because we didn't have any, but I'm confident he would have quickly responded based on our previous messages. All of his messages were thorough and I felt I had all the information needed. This is one reason I never reached out to him during the stay, because we felt all the information had already been given. Roads: We had read reviews that had us a little anxious about the roads to the cabin. Only the last few minutes of the drive is what everyone is referring to. Although along that part the road is narrow, steep, and has a tight turn, the road is entirely paved. We had no issues at all. I feel certain almost any vehicle could get there with no issues. Once at the cabin, the spot is only big enough for one vehicle and I backed into the spot as I believe backing into the road to leave would be more difficult. There was virtually no traffic on the road directly beside the cabin. I saw one car drive by all week, which makes the narrowness of the road and backing into the spot much easier. Quality: Justin made it clear with every step his goal was a five star review. My wife and I both felt the 5 stars were earned. We were very happy and would definitely recommend this place to everyone. We hope one day we can return ourselves. This was our first AB&B and we were extremely satisfied. Justin set the bar high. "I enjoyed my stay at Justin’s cabin and would definitely rent it out again. It has great decor touches to make it feel like you are truly out in nature. Very far up in the mountain on steep slopes which makes the drive rough at night but also makes you feel more secluded. "The cabin was much better than we expected. We felt like we were at home it was very cozy and nice. Very spacious and relaxing. The location couldn’t be more perfect for my boyfriend and I. We needed a stress free weekend away from school and work and we got what we needed and more. Not too far from activities in the area. We will for sure be back. I recommended this cabin to a lot of friends when they saw our posts. Love it. 5 stars isn’t enough. I would give it a 100/100."

"It was an amazing place to stay and Justin is a phenomenal host. The interior aesthetics make you feel right at home. The proximity to town made it very easy to get all your necessary groceries but its location helped you feel very in tune with nature which is a huge plus. The hiking trails within 30 minutes of the house are INCREDIBLE! Absolutely stunning. The one recommendation I’d have is to make sure you get there before dark as it can be a bit tricky to locate. I’d most definitely stay here again on my next trip to the Smoky Mountains"

"This was a great cabin and we will be coming back! Justin was easy to get in contact with and was also very professional and nice. The cabin is beautiful!!!!!!! It’s close to everything just as advertised too so it made it easy to go places. All and all, beautiful, romantic, and all around awesome!"

"Such a beautiful cabin! We played endless games of pool, got to go out and enjoy Pigeon Forge (which was close by) and enjoyed the evening in the hot tub! Definitely will be returning here!"

"This cabin was so great! My fiance and I made a trip to Gatlinburg last year and stayed at a different cabin, but this year's stay was much superior! Awesome location and great amenities! I highly recommend for anyone who is looking for an escape in the mountains."

"Beautiful cabin in the woods. We felt safe and truly unplugged from our everyday lives. Justin our host was amazing and quick to respond with any questions we had. We enjoyed the complimentary wine that was left for us, that was such a sweet touch. We will definitely be back again as we enjoyed our time relaxing in the jacuzzi and sitting by the fire. "This place is the perfect location if you want to be close to everything but secluded enough to enjoy some peace. Almost exactly between gatlinburg and PF, the location lets you get to either one super quick. Also, the inside is perfect for a romantic getaway! Perfect amount of space - nice appliances, TV's , and hottubs. We would totally come back and I would totally recommend someone staying here."

"Wonderful place to stay! The drive to the cabin is a bit steep and curvy so make sure you have a vehicle to accommodate the roads (4WD)! Very beautiful scenery! The cabin was very cozy as well!"
